The International Nisville Jazz Festival is one of the most visited jazz festivals in Southeast Europe. The festival started in 1995 and since then, it has been a unique experience for all fans of jazz music. Last year, Nisville was visited by over 100,000 people, despite difficult working conditions (the  Kovid 19 pandemic). The International Jazz Festival Nisville was held in the heart of the city of Nis, Nis Fortress, and in addition to the main program, there were numerous free programs.

In August, when the festival was held, the sounds of jazz are heard throughout the city. It is a great period to visit Nis and to enjoy with all your senses the beauties of this unique city rich in history, culture, unique food and friendly people.

According to the official website of the Nisville Jazz Festival, the most famous jazz magazine in the world, the American “Downbeat” in a comprehensive review of the festival in 2008 rated Nisville as a festival that in the best possible way promotes jazz as a direction created on the American continent, the Balkan music tradition. Numerous world-famous musicians have performed in Nishville since the beginning of the festival, and every year, to the delight of domestic and foreign audiences, the festival has a number of names that have left an indelible mark on the music.

According to the festival organizers: Solomon Burke, Tom Harrell, All Di Meola, Monty Alexander, Brian Blade, Richard Galliano, Benny Golson, Randy Brecker, Miroslav Vitous, John Patitucci, Candy Dulfer, Roy have performed in Nishville so far. The main program of the festival was held in the open space of the Plateau of Nis Fortress, on two stages – Earth & Sky stage, and many quality domestic and foreign performers perform on stages that are free for the audience: River, Open, Air, Hip Hop, Midnight Jazzdance, Movie, Jazz For Kids, Welcome, Youth, Jazz Museum stage, Kristina stage.
